Program Requirements

To enroll, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be in good standing as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) on the Indiana Aide Registry
  • Worked a minimum of 1,000 hours as a CNA within the past 24 months
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED certificate. Diplomas earned outside the U.S. must be evaluated and translated by an approved credential evaluation agency.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Pass a criminal background check (included in tuition).

Additionally, applicants must provide:

  • Recent Physical and Tuberculosis Screening. A current chest x-ray is required for positive TB test results.

  • Two forms of valid identification.

Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Program

Our state-approved QMA Program in Indiana is a comprehensive training designed to equip Certified Nursing Assistants with the advanced skills needed to safely administer medications and launch a successful career as Qualified Medication Aide.

This 100-hour program combines 60 hours of classroom instruction with 40 hours of hands-on clinical practice under licensed nurse supervision. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to take the state competency evaluation exam administered through Ivy Tech Community College Testing Centers. Once certified, you’ll be qualified to work as a QMA in Indiana healthcare facilities while maintaining your CNA certification!

  • Follow important safety rules, cleanliness standards, and legal requirements when handling medications.
  • Gain hands-on experience to collect samples, and provide basic treatments under the supervision of a nurse.
